There is no denying that everyone wants to look their best. Most of us focus on skin care and hair nourishment but how often do we give the feet a thought? These are a significant part of our body with their own specific muscles, ligaments and bones that require proper care and regular maintenance. Caring for your feet is not too hard, especially if you follow my tips with a bit of diligence.
Keep Your Feet Clean
Keeping the feet clean helps prevent many of the foot diseases away that can otherwise be detrimental to your health. Make sure you wash your feet properly, especially the insides of the toes because the humidity from the shoes can let bacteria grow in these areas. If you don’t wash your feet, the bacteria and fungi keep accumulating that can cause various skin problems. Ask an expert from a reputable healthcare institute like Podiatry First for a footwash recommendation and have your feet inspected in case of any problems or pain. Make it a habit to dry your feet once you’re done cleaning them as the moisture between the toes can help breed bacteria leading to foot problems.
Wear Comfortable Footwear
One of the ways we can relax the muscles of our feet is by wearing comfortable shoes that are flexible and spacious enough to let air flow through to all the cells from the heel to the toe. Make it a habit to wear flats when you’re not at a glitzy party or a corporate meetup. It would be a good idea to avoid excessive use of heels and stilletos as that can strain the back which may result in health problems.
Use a nice moisturizer for the feet to provide the cells and tissues the required nourishment. A good idea is to use cocoa butter during the day and rub it gently on the feet especially underneath and over the skin. This is necessary to avoid cracked skin or dry patches that may result due to the regular wear and tear of the body.
Walk & Exercise
Just like skin care entails exercise for rejuvenation and optimum results, your feet also need some walking to flex the muscles and strengthen the bones. These muscles need the exercise to stay healthy and strong. A good idea is to include 45 minutes of daily brisk walk as part of your regular routine. Do not walk excessively as that can stress out the muscles. A good exercise routine will ensure that your feet are strong, healthy, and firm.
